Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the " Did you know?" column on November 2, 2012.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Honiara (pictured), capital of the Solomon Islands, contains a College of Higher Education, an international school and a branch of the University of the South Pacific?

Spelling

I take it "Melanaisna" is the correct spelling since it's repeated, but what language is it? (Is it Pijin for Melanesia?) Thanks, Manytexts ( talk) 01:29, 2 November 2012 (UTC) reply

"administered as a provincial town"

I asked for a citation here. The French wikipedia article (much briefer than ours) says something quite different, that Honiara constitutes the "Capital Territory" and is not a part of any province. I guess it's possible that whoever wrote "administered as a provincial town" meant to say what the French wiki says, but that's not the normal meaning of the English phrase "provincial town".
