A fact from Herman Benson appeared on Wikipedia's
Main Page in the Did you know column on 7 May 2023 (
check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that before his 100th birthday, Herman Benson wrote his own obituary claiming that his "last, dying words" were a plea for generous donations to the Association for Union Democracy?
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as

ALT1: ... that before his 100th birthday, Herman Benson wrote his own obituary claiming that his "last, dying words" were a plea for generous donations to the Association for Union Democracy?
Comment: Two (2) QPQs since it's a double hook; the reviewer of this double hook also receives 2 QPQ credits. Happy to suggest more ALT hooks if needed. Association for Union Democracy was expanded 5x since 8 April 2023 (per DYKcheck).
Overall: @
Cielquiparle and
Namiba: Nice work on these two articles. I like ALT1 best, but all three hooks are good to go. Both articles are new and long enough at the time of nomination, and are both neutral and free of plagiarism; however,
Association for Union Democracy#Founders and staff does not seem to have any inline sources. Once this is fixed, I can approve this nomination.

@
Epicgenius: Thanks for reviewing. I've added refs for the "Notable people" section. (I also like ALT1 best.)
