Is all the stuff about location really necessary? How is any of that stuff relevent to the topic? The location of the acquarium has been metioned earlier in the article, why are we trying to plug the prime real estate of that area in this article? How does it matter where CNN, Philips Arena and Ernst & Young are located? AreJay
The article is factually incorrect in regards to Pemberton Place. The W Hotel, Ernst & Young, and Southern Company are all part of a development named Ivan Allen Plaza. It is close to the aquarium but is not the same thing as Pemberton Place, which consists of the Georgia Aquarium, the new World of Coca-Cola museum and greenspace to be developed later. Pemberton Place is one superblock bounded by Centennial Olympic Park Drive, Baker Street, Luckie Street, and Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. Once an article (or at least a stub) is created for Pemberton Place, this confusion should be decreased.
The location is relevent in sense that the aquarium has spurred or at the very least, accelerated development in a part of Atlanta that was mostly made up of vacant lots and industrial buildings. The brand of hotel or name of which corporate headquarters are located nearby does not appear to be relevent. AubieTurtle 18:55, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
A very nice article, but it needs footnotes. "General references" doesn't cut it when you've got so many specific facts.
Other than that, well-written and (especially) illustrated. Daniel Case 01:55, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
The exhibits should be listed in the order they are explained. 68.225.113.222 19:54, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
The article casts a lot of doubt on the largest claim, but it doesn't actually note any competing aquariums that say they're larger. Note that the Dubai project is not yet open for business, so it doesn't count. If there are no active competing claims, this should just be stated as a fact. Superm401 - Talk 07:42, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree, I came here looking for "the world's largest aquarium". I kept searching after reading this article because it is so wishy-washy. Yet, no other (completed) aquarium seems to compete. Why the ambiguity? 76.176.221.236 ( talk) 06:23, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
It has been over two years since this discussion thread was started and nobody has come forward with any references to larger aquariums. I'm going to go out on a limb and take away the ambiguity. 74.228.64.159 ( talk) 19:25, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
It is no longer the largest. The S.E.A. Aquarium, Singapore, with its 49 habitats totalling 38.7 million litres (8.5 million UK gal; 10.2 million US gal) of salt water and fresh water, is the world's largest aquarium. It was officially inaugurated on 7 December 2012. 12.132.34.34 ( talk) 21:53, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
In the section entitled Gallery, there is a box saying,"This section looks like an image gallery" as if it is a bad thing. This section is actually entitled Gallery, so it's idiotic to tell us it looks like an image gallery. Perhaps this tag should be removed.-- STAR TREK enthusiast Open channel 19:37, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
I really don't think it is necessary to put a specific location of a Beluga whale sanctuary other than the one the article is about. This should be removed. Belugaboy535136 talk 12:50, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
There's far too much detail about individual animals, their names, date they arrived, which tank they occupied temporarily while their regular tank was being redecorated, that two of them had formerly lived under a roller coaster in Mexico, the color of the wetsuits worn by guests when the Star Spangled Banner was played on air horns by deaf-blind oceangoing cheetahs, what the first necropsy showed, what the revised necropsy showed, what the necropsy would have concluded had the facts been different from what they actually were, et cetera, et certera, and so on and so forth. "Chef Wolfgang Puck's company manages catering services. The aquarium also includes a fairly large food court with tables extending into the main lobby." Really? Oh do go on! Are there free refills on the supersize sodas? EEng ( talk) 17:36, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

I recently visited the aquarium, and can confirm from personal account that both “Raven” the manta ray and “Trixie” the whale shark are deceased as of 2021. They each passed in 2020, and I know of at least one press release referring to Trixie’s passing. The article ought to be updated to reflect such a major change in collections. Nanotyrannus ( talk) 20:36, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
As of February 2022, “Alice” the whale shark has also passed. They also added another manta, “Blue”, at some point in the last decade that this article does not reference. Nanotyrannus ( talk) 03:15, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
