Is Georgetown now coterminous with Quitman County

Is the Georgetown now coterminous with Quitman County (like Philadelphia and Philadelphia county), or dost it remain a separate non-coterminous municipality within the county, despite the consolidated city-county government (like Hartsville, Tennessee)?

Please respond at Talk:Quitman County, Georgia. Emmette Hernandez Coleman ( talk) 09:16, 14 July 2013 (UTC) Where did you take zip 31754 from? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.109.104.44 ( talk) 22:29, 8 January 2018 (UTC) reply

About my revert.

About my revert, there were a few reason for it. First of all, just because Georgetown and Quitman County have a consolidated government doesn't necessarily mean that they are coterminous, see the last three posts of Talk:Hartsville,_Tennessee#revert. "Georgetown-Quitman County" could be nothing more then the census bureau's term for Quitman County; it calls Trousdale County, Tennessee "Hartsville-Trousdale County" despite Hartsville and Trousdale County not being anywhere near coterminous.

Secondly, even if the county and "City of Georgetown" are coterminous, we already have a Quitman County, Georgia article, we don't second one. Quitman County is not a urbanized county, there is indisputably an city there surrounded by farmland (and a river) at the old location of the "City of Georgetown". Georgetown is not the same thing as the county, it contains a only a tiny fraction of the land and less then half the population. This article should continue to be about the now-unincorporated city of Georgetown, not the new "City of Georgetown" which is coterminous with the county, we have Quitman County, Georgia for that. I'll yield to your reason. I do hope you left the redirect in place, as that satisfies my original concern which was linking to the content from the alternative iteration. I suppose I should have simply created the redirect at the outset. I think I misspoke regarding your judgement; You seem just fine to me; and quite collegial as well. Thanks. I left Georgetown-Quitman County, Georgia as a redirect, tough I retargeted it to Quitman County, Georgia. If it's census bureau's term for the county, clearly it should target the county article. If the county and the "city" are coterminous, then the term refers to the "city"-county, not the now-unincorporated city within the county.
Cold you do me a small favor. Could you strike out your original post on my talk page; out of context it may appear to be a black mark. Emmette Hernandez Coleman ( talk) 22:46, 16 July 2013 (UTC) reply
Yes I will; I'm sorry that you had to ask this of me, I should have done it of my own accord. Please pardon my lethargic intransigence. :)  John Cline ( talk) 23:08, 16 July 2013 (UTC) reply
