" Forced migration" & " population transfer"

Oppose. "Transfer" is a specific case when it is an official governmental process. "Forced migration" may be under various forms of pressure, possibly state-sponsored, but not officialized. `' mikka 23:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC) reply

The idea of population transfer is the result of a planned movement usually supported by two or more governments. This may not be forced at all, although it often is. Forced migration is at once broader--considering forced movement for a wide range of movement--and more specific in that it excludes economic or other sorts of planned guest worker programmes. It would, however, include trafficking or slavery.

I just read the article on german expulsions, and despite this article, it clearly has nothing to do with economic development.

Hello, I added this section to the article in an effort to expand on the previous section that listed some of the conditions forcibly displaced people experience on their journey. I wanted to follow up with the responses to forced displacement across global, state, and local or urban platforms. I gave brief examples of these. For anyone interested in my proposed revisions, please check out my newly-updated user page, as well as my sandbox, where you will find a draft of my proposed changes. Overall, I plan on revising this article's existing sections, eliminating issues with wordiness and sentence flow. Additionally, I will reorganize content such as definition and causes, allowing for better article flow. Great job with the article! I learned so much, especially about the causes of forced displacement. You did a fantastic job in summarizing a really complex issue by using examples in the form of case studies and explained the legal definitions and structures surrounding forced displacement in a very accessible manner. I was also impressed by how you seamlessly weaved your sources into your statements and the quality of your sources. I would suggest that you proofread your article and edit for clarity and grammar. There are a few instances when your verb tenses were incorrect or sentences were too long and hard to understand. These changes should help improve the clarity and readability of your article, and the lack of grammatical errors will add to the credibility and reliability of the article for readers. I suggest you also look at the Wikipedia Manual of Style and change the headings and subsection titles to reflect the sentence-case convention. This would make your article more consistent with the rest of the articles within Wikipedia. If you have time, I think it’d also be worth regional diversity to your examples within the “criminal induced displacement.” I think more information to the “conditions” sections, specifically more information about the quality of life for marginalized and vulnerable populations such as children and women would also be helpful. You might reconsider renaming “conditions” to a title that is more descriptive to the information that you cover. I think the most important edits are fixing the grammatical errors, editing the style and formatting, and adding more information to a few sections. All in all, fantastic job!! Diego, I think you have made some great contributions to this article! I think your writing is very clear and accessible, and your addition of examples to the "causes" section especially adds a lot of clarity. I might suggest just changing the titling/structure of that section a bit since "examples" as their own sub-sections sounds a bit strange to me. Another area you could go into more detail might also be the "conditions" section (if you have time), since there is a lot of information out there you could include. I also found a few minor grammatical/syntax errors you may want to read over. Other than that, I think that the overall organization and the new information you added to the article are all great, and cover the most important topics in this complex area. Hi everyone! I am considering working on this topic as a part of my Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities course this semester. As part of my revisions, I hope to expand the "Conditions faced by displaced persons" section. Here, I would add sections on mental health, conditions faced in other countries, health effects, financial effects, and family effects. While I conduct more research on the topic I may add more sections that I feel are relevant to the topic.

Crimes against humanity is a specific legal concept. In order to be included in the category, the event (s) must have been prosecuted as a crime against humanity, or at a bare minimum be described as such by most reliable sources. Most of the articles that were formerly in this category did not mention crimes against humanity at all, and the inclusion of the category was purely original research.
