– Without explanation in the form of either an edit summary or a talk page discussion, a user moved the pages and talk pages for the flags of Orlando, Phoenix, Tulsa, and Charlotte to unnecessarily disambiguated titles and recreated their original articles as redirect pages, making it impossible to undo these moves through normal means. I would simply revert them back to their longstanding titles if I could, but since I can't, I am using the Requested Move process to request a consensus in favor of the original titles. The pages and their history would be swapped back, presumably through a

Comment: As the editor who suggested you initiate this RM, thanks and good job. It would be useful to editors if you would state specifically what
WP:AT title policy and/or associated guidelines support your position. Don’t make other editors try and guess why you think the titles should be changed. The fact that they were changed without explanation is nothing unusual in WP and not relevant to this RM. What the policy/guideline argument for the titles you seek is! Indeed you have a long standing interest in flag articles but it is the community who must decide the best title. Additionally, out of courtesy, you should notify the original article mover and any relevant WP project of this RM.

@
Mike Cline: I believe I already mentioned that the reason for moving it back would be that this is unnecessary disambiguation (
WP:CONCISE). That is to say there is no other "Flag of Phoenix" or "Flag of Orlando" article that one could be thinking of, and even had there been one, these would be the primary topics (
WP:QUALIFIER). Had there been one, the original title pages (e.g. "
Flag of Orlando") would have become disambiguation pages, not redirects. My only reason for not yet again pinging
User:Rkt2312 when starting this RM was that I've pinged them so many times already and I was feeling bad about potentially spamming them with notifications, especially when they've already demonstrated a lack of interest in talking about this subject by not responding to other editors who asked them about these renames nearly two months ago. Additionally,
User:Mike Cline, re: The fact that they were changed without explanation is nothing unusual in WP and not relevant to this RM. does not seem to be accurate. I now see that the correct venue for this is not to start a regular RM, I should have asked at
Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests#Requests to revert undiscussed moves. I will be asking at the correct venue instead. I'm only jumping through hoops like this because technical limitations are preventing me from performing what would be a very uncontroversial revert, there's no need to overcomplicate this one.
