I'm new here but I was wondering if there's such a thing as citation-stuffing? There are so many references attached to one sentence -- citations 43-58 are all bare URLs, etc. Are there too many? Is this a normal amount? Should I change all of the bare URLs to proper citations? Just asking so I don't waste all my time. I'm happy to do it. But could this be citation-stuffing? Is there a "choose one" thing or are they all legit? Do more and more references just mean it's more and more true? The list of related subjects is extremely pious, diabetes type 2 and diet? It's not really related to this article about cuisine and skews the article toward a particular mindset, not fast food per se. -- 94.195.193.43 ( talk) 19:51, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I think you should also mention Chinese Fast Food, especially since there is a long history of urbanization and such food, particularly things like 串. The current article ignores traditional forms of fast food outside England, France, and Rome.

- I agree. The article mentions the popina as a sort of distant precursor, but not the thermopolium, possibly an even closer analogue, if not forerunner, of the modern fast food restaurant. Fish sauces such as garum and liquamen could be compared to tomato ketchup (which was, after all, named after and inspired by an Asian type of fish sauce) and other flavour enhancers, functionally at least. (Of course we should not drive the comparisons too far, lest we end up with a Flintstones version of Ancient Rome. But similar needs of urban dwellers certainly led to similar solutions already long before the modern area.) However, I feel not sufficiently knowledgeable about Roman history and archaeology, much less the aspects concerning daily life, to dare edit the article accordingly. -- Florian Blaschke ( talk) 22:59, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

The section claims that the McDonald's restaurant is the busiest in the world and set records for customers served. This statement is confusing because there is no context. Is it the busiest McDonald's, Fast food hamburger restaurant, fast food restaurant or restaurant in general? Same for the customers served. This seemed confusing to me: "In 2006, the global fast food market grew by 4.8% and reached a value of 102.4 billion and a volume of 80.3 billion transactions.[16] In India alone the fast food industry is growing by 41% a year.[17]"

The photo attached to the caption about fast food in the US consisting of burger, fries and a soft drink just shows burgers! Can't anyone find a photo of the actual things listed in the caption?!

The new section "Advertising" is heavy on criticism, but lacks basic content on how the fast food industry advertises, which is a bare essential for such a section. Stevie is the man! Talk • Work 14:46, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

There are tons of claims that pretend to be sourced, that are not, or are inaccurate, that seems to be bias towards or against fast food, most often towards, we should look into to see if they are accurate or not, and remove any potential lies. LordLimaBean ( talk) 21:24, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
Is there some particular aspect of why I should be getting Twinkle vandal reverts for trying to improve a C-class article with less than 50% inline coverage and multiple unresolved tags?

What's the basis for calling pizza fast food? I walk into a Domino's order a pizza, none of it is precooked, the make it, bake it, takes 10 minutes. That's just normal food. That's not "fast". Fast food is a type of mass-produced food designed for commercial resale, with a strong priority placed on speed of service. It is a commercial term, limited to food sold in a restaurant or store with frozen, preheated or precooked ingredients and served in packaging for take-out/take-away. Fast food was created as a commercial strategy to accommodate large numbers of busy commuters, travelers and wage workers. In the gallery to the right of the intro, where it shows a Margherita pizza, please replace the image as File:Pizza-3007395.jpg and put a general caption there as “ pizza”. Note: we're just showing a Margherita pizza, we're not saying that most pizzerias serve it, though it's fair to assume that they do given it's by far the most basic and the cheapest to make.

Not done: Most fast food places I know do indeed not serve this type of pizza, but I'm also American so I have the least
globalized opinion of most developed nations.
Humor That aside, I concur that the image is harmless and simply serves to show a type of fast food. The specificness of the name is out of Wikipedia's desire for accuracy, just like how the sandwich is marked as a
Submarine sandwich rather than just
Sandwich. —
