Wow, this is pretty bad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.2.214.123 ( talk) 07:35, 26 February 2008 (UTC) :
Saying "this is pathetic" is an euphemism.
This page needs some serious work. Now is a good time to do it, because a new
Intelligent Design movie (Metamorphosis by Illustra Media) about butterflies is about to come out. This means that many people will be flocking to this page for answers. Hopefully there is an insect expert on here that can help.

The citation to Hall et al. 2004 does not support the Eocene/30-40 million years statement (the Hall paper reports a riodinid dating to 15-25 mbp). The Fossil Lepidoptera page suggests the earliest fossils are from late Eocene, in the Florissant Formation. Recent work by Sohn et al. 2015 [1] might also be useful here. Hi, There is a thread here you may be interested in, about a consistent naming for articles dealing with evolution of taxa. Thanks! -- Cyclopia talk 17:06, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
