The number of states parties is inaccurately listed as 66 according to the US Department of State, which lists 68 state parties, including Brunei (1 Jan 1964) and St Kitts/Nevis (19 Sep 1983).

Republic of France.

This article may wish elaborate on France's situation as she seems to be entirely out of this treaty, despite being a major nuclear power and a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
