Why does the racial makeup add up to much more than 100? It isn't made clear on the page and I don't think anyone wants to go through that 60 page pdf to find out.

Can someone present a source showing Elgin's population exceeded 100,000 in 2005? The American Community Survey estimate for 2005 shows 93,412, which is likely incorrect. However, there shouldn't be unsubstantiated population information in the article (I'm referring to paragraph two).

See [1]. The Census Bureau's 2003 estimate was 97,117. I don't think there is any information for this year or last year, but if the pop. grew 2.8% from 2003, it would be ~99,836 some time in 2006.

From what I understand he grew up in S Elgin but now lives in Elgin.

No evidence of a hymn named "Song of Elgin". The reference I am talking about is #7. The sentence sounded clumsy to me. I checked a grammar checker and it says the is written in passive voice, meaning it is clumsy. Instead of: The watch factory employed three generations of Elginites from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, when it was the largest producer of fine watches in the United States (the factory ceased production in 1965 and was torn down in the summer of 1966) and the operator of the largest watchmaking complex in the world. The grammar checker suggested this change: From the late 19th to the mid-20th centuries, the watch factory employed three generations of Elginites. During this time, it was the world's largest watchmaking complex and the largest producer of fine watches in the United States (production ended in 1965, and the factory was demolished in the summer of 1966).
