Major reorganization needed

  • All historical information should be in one section: history
  • Everywhere else, article should describe DART as it currently exists.
  • The criticism section is a big problem. Should be incorporated throughout the history section; not as a stand-alone section. At any rate, a lot of it should be cut out: it's a generic rail-vs.-cars political debate.

Not a single thing in the "criticism" section was both page-appropriate and properly sourced. I deleted the whole thing; any valid contributions will require enough work that they can just be re-added from scratch anyway. Shelbystripes ( talk) 03:19, 9 April 2013 (UTC) reply

No map?

A map of the DART system should be added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.158.168.94 ( talk) 12:27, 17 September 2014 (UTC) reply

Time to 'Split Off' the Dallas-Oak Cliff Streetcar into its own article

With the Dallas-Oak Cliff Streetcar opening imminently, it's time to "spin off" this section into its own article – e.g. Dallas–Oak Cliff Streetcar (just as with the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority system). If this doesn't happen soon, I may do it myself, over the next week or so... -- IJBall ( talk) 22:14, 26 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Done! But separate article created as Dallas Streetcar instead, as that is what DART is calling it. -- IJBall ( talk) 04:56, 12 April 2015 (UTC) reply

Politically Charged Section =

The second sentence in ridership and financial performance seems very politically charged, and like someone is against the DART. saying "is one of the worst when compared against peer cities" without specifying by what metric is odd, and specifying that most of a ticket is payed for by "the taxpayer" seems expressly political to me. I think it should be made less expressely political, or removed Aurora (User:Horkak) (talk) 18:02, 7 June 2021 (UTC) reply

Having waited a while, and not received a responce, I've gone ahead and removed the section about "the taxpayer"'s payment for each ticket, as it was not sourced, and is a politically charged phrasing. I suggest if someone would like to include that information to discuss the farebox recovery rate of Dallas, which is more encyclopedic. Secondly, there has been a section added only saying they took on $1 Billion of debt in 2021. Given that it does not go into why this debt was taken on, what it would pay for, or any discussion of the current debt, or debt servicing plan, I think it either needs to be expanded on or removed.
