Presently First Church of Christ, Scientist (New York, New York) redirectd to this page. Crenshaw was for some years located in this: [1] building, a notable building (historic designations, notable architect, etc.), constructed for a congregation that has since merged with Second Church of Christ, Scientist (Manhattan). Crenshaw moved out years ago and this old church building has been purchased by the Children's Museum of Manhattan. I believe that the term First Church of Christ, Scientist (New York, New York) should be redirected to Second Church of Christ, Scientist (Manhattan) and that such a move would be constructive and non-controversial. Problem is, I don't know how to accomplish such a move. Thanks. E.M.Gregory ( talk) 15:15, 3 January 2018 (UTC) reply

I don't think changing the redirect target on its own is a good idea. This article has detailed information on the building itself, much more than the Second Church of Christ, Scientist (Manhattan) article. Since this page also contains information on the building that's entirely unrelated to the congregation that originally built it, the article on the Second Church seems a bad place for that information. On the other hand, whether there's enough information for a separate article on the First Church is debatable; in the long term that probably is the best course of action. For now I've added a hatnote noting that the "First Church" redirect points here and providing the appropriate link for people interested in the Christian Science congregation. Following the usual naming scheme for First Churches of Christ, Scientist I have moved the new article to First Church of Christ, Scientist (New York, New York). I'll clean up the redirects and disambiguation hatnotes. Huon ( talk) 15:40, 5 January 2018 (UTC) reply
