Fair use rationale for Image:Cosmorenderinglv.jpg

Image:Cosmorenderinglv.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Casino size

The amenities section listed it at 150,000 sqft but then says 100,000 was built. The introduction says 75,000 sqft. So which is correct. Vegaswikian ( talk) 18:39, 6 July 2011 (UTC) reply

Floor count

This building, like many others in Las Vegas, use peculiar floor numbering systems with many skipped floors.

East Tower

The East Tower actually has 50 floors, not 51.

Elevators serving upper levels (exact button arrangement)

70 71 72 73 75
65 66 67 68 69
59 60 61 62 63
53 55 56 57 58
15 39 50 51 52
4
3
2
1

Elevators serving lower levels

35 36 37 38
30 31 32 33
26 27 28 29
21 22 23 25
17 18 19 20
15 ........ 16
4
3
2
1

West Tower

The West Tower actually has 52 floors, not 53.

  • All elevators stop at 1, 2, 3, 4, 14
  • One set of elevators serves 15-30; another set serves 31-46; and the last set serves 47-61. No skipped numbers between 15 and 61.

What is the theme

Come on there has to be a theme. I stayed there a few times, it's kinda very regal, contemporary art, wealthy style to it. Maybe it's just me. Aww. Boaxy ( talk) 09:09, 5 October 2015 (UTC) reply

Number of Rooms

I undid a change made that set the number of rooms to 3,026. I have a feeling this might actually be correct, but we need a reliable source. Unfortunately, the Cosmopolitan Facebook page (which is a verified authentic page) still says 2,995 rooms. When I first did a search, I didn't see any sources for 3,026. I now see a couple, but don't know if they're copying Wikipedia, or have arrived at it on their own. Hopefully, things will sort themselves out soon. -- Larry/Traveling_Man ( talk) 00:53, 9 June 2017 (UTC) reply

Update

I did a little more digging, and there's still nothing definitive:

Update 2

As of 9 August 2017, a number of websites report 3,041 rooms, e.g., [1], [2], and [3]. However, I don't know if any of these really count as reliable, and the official Cosmopolitan Facebook page still says 2,995 rooms. -- Larry/Traveling_Man ( talk) 20:21, 9 August 2017 (UTC) reply

Update 3 -- found news source for 3,027 rooms

A new article talks about a refresh of many of the rooms, and specifies a grand total of 3,027 rooms. I've updated the article accordingly, with the source (Las Vegas Sun). -- Larry/Traveling_Man ( talk) 02:31, 10 August 2017 (UTC) reply

Orphaned references in Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
