Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... guy's notable as a musician and bandleader, easily passes WP:MUSICIAN, has an entry at allmusic.com and so on. Take it AfD if you like (you'll lose) but don't speedy. And the article indicates his notability by listing his discography, remembering that WP:MUSICIAN asks for just two major-label albums and hes got scores. -- Herostratus ( talk) 02:10, 25 December 2014 (UTC) reply

Wasn't put up for CSD because the subject is not notable but because the article about the subject does not assert notability and exists only as a discography (thus serve only to promote his work and tells us nothing about him). (i.e. seems like a pretty standard WP:NOT-related CSD). --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 05:06, 25 December 2014 (UTC) reply
You have to fix it yourself, anyone who will look up this subject will find it notable enough to decline both speedy deletion and AFD. Noteswork ( talk) 05:38, 25 December 2014 (UTC) reply
Indeed if nominated based on notability there would be no reason to delete at either venue. But plenty of notable subjects are deleted if their article was entirely promotional and/or did not assert notability. That appeared to be the case. If it were in fact deleted, that would remove the present article but wouldn't have prevented recreation of an article that offered more than just a discography. Regardless, that there are people supporting his notability who are interested to improve the article (rather than promote the subject) is a perfectly good reason to remove such a CSD and there's no reason to push for deletion. I added the expand Italian template to the page as it looks like itwiki has more on the subject, even if lacking in sources. --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 06:02, 25 December 2014 (UTC) reply
