I don't see the need to CENSOR the interesting fact about people being confused with CAO and CEO in the title of City Manager. Its a fact and many people know it. This is not POV. Please stop deleting it. Wiki BADASS Woo 2U 00:06, 8 August 2006 (UTC) reply

Have moved County Manager to County Manager (Republic of Ireland). dab-ed the old page, which made more sense IMO. This City Manager article now needs to be split up into two articles, one is the same, the other is " County manager (United States)". Student7 ( talk) 12:57, 18 March 2011 (UTC) reply

Suggestions

Hi,

I'm in an intro to Public Administration class and we are making suggestions on articles relevant to Public Administration. I found this article to be informative and insightful but would like to offer a few suggestions. More recent information on the profession should be added to reflect how it is in 2015 as most of the sources the article pulled from are several years old with the most recent one being from 2005, which obviously is a decade ago. New information on the career could be pulled from the ICMA website as well as several other sources that collect information on the profession as apart of their operations. Also, it would be helpful to change the "Profile" section of the article to a "Education/Training" section that will give more detailed and up to date information on the educational requirements and certifications that are needed to become a city manager as well as some employment statistics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StephGarrett7 ( talkcontribs) 16:48, 18 September 2015 (UTC) reply

Article Evaluation

I'm in an intro to Public Administration class and would like to make a few suggestions. A little more specifics about the background of the city manager and it's history as there is not much as far as i can tell. Also to piggy back a little on what someone has already suggested below me, how about the differences and how the city manager position has evolved over the years. How have the responsibilities changed and how is someone in his position affect the community? How exactly do the responsibilities vary in different cities or locally? I thought 2005 is a little old and I feel like the educational background could be updated and what it takes to obtain this position such as degrees and amount of schooling. Lastly you could throw salary in there and what the average pay is or benefits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by J r186 ( talkcontribs) 04:07, 23 September 2015 (UTC) reply
