Ideas for Addition to Plague

Compared to the fire of 1990, there are only few facts or information about the plague itself. I plan to add more information about the plague itself. Also, while reading the wiki for the first time, it was hard to find information about the plague because it was under the Honolulu Great Fire section, I would make a new section (heading) about the plague. In this new section, I want to mention about the Board of Health (because it played a huge role in the decisions about how to deal with the plague). My source gives good/reliable information about the BOH. My source also mentions specific people that was involved during the plague. I plan on doing more research on these people to get a better sense, and see if its reliable.

Bubonic Plague (1899-1900)

I created a new heading called Bubonic Plague (1899-1990) because when I first came to this Wiki page, it was hard to find information about the bubonic plague when it was under the heading Great Honolulu Chinatown Fire. In this new section, there is a little bit of history on the Board of Health (BOH). I decided to add this information, because the BOH played a huge role during the plague. They were the one who made the first public announcement about the plague, and made the decision about quarantining Chinatown. I came across information from the Hawaii State Department that talks about the first case reported. It contained the name of the first plague related death, when he got sick, when he died, and how it led to the diagnosis of the Bubonic plague. I also added some information about President Cooper who was the President of the BOH during the plague. He issued the quarantine on Chinatown and stopped vessels from coming in/out of the Honolulu harbor. Chjkim94 ( talk) 01:18, 3 December 2017 (UTC) reply

Overlap within Plague sections

There is significant overlap between the sections about the plague in addition to some pretty serious discrepancies. I don't want to just steamroll this but it might be worth combining all three sections into one. Once the redundant information is removed I don't think the resulting section would be too long.
