Wine Improvement Drive

From the 6th May 2007 Newsletter :

A number of the regulars are away at the moment, either on holiday or working for exams (good luck guys), so I thought I'd propose an 'easy' article to get to GA status. Following on from Bordeaux wine last time, we are going to share some Wiki love on one of my favourite grapes, Cabernet Franc, it's currently rated as a Start and it would be great to get it up to GA. Given the new policy of aiming WIDs at 'families' of articles, some other articles to work on would be :
If that's not enough for you, there are plenty of stubs that could use some attention! FlagSteward 02:56, 7 May 2007 (UTC) reply

Picture

If there is to be a picture of wine on this page, I'd like to see a picture of single-varietal C. Franc rather than a blend, which seems less remarkable to me. Sorry I can't provide one myself! Philip Howard ( talk) 12:37, 10 July 2008 (UTC) reply

Produced in Ontario, Canada

In Kingsville, Ont. is a winery that produces Cabernet Franc from a grape vineyard on Peelee Island in Lake Erie. Musicwriter ( talk) 03:41, 14 January 2012 (UTC) reply

Ch. Cheval Blanc

I have removed an opaque sentence from the France section that seemed to claim Cheval Blanc was exclusively or nearly exclusively Cabernet Franc (or something), a proposition not supported by the reference cited. The reference cited says no more than that Cheval Blanc "is probably the most prestigious Cabernet Franc ambassador”. I have also altered the caption to the adjacent image: only occasionally does Cabernet Franc "predominate" in the assemblage of Cheval Blanc (and then only marginally); more usually the portion of Cabernet Franc in Cheval Blanc is between 30% and 45%. That information can be found on Cheval Blanc's own Web site, which is of course not an independent source for verification purposes. -- Frans Fowler ( talk) 00:10, 13 October 2021 (UTC) reply
