Where does this park enter Kentucky? -- NE2 17:32, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
The Russell Fork gorge is not the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi nor is Little River Canyon in Alabama. There are deeper gorges in the south and east of the Mississippi. One example would be the Nolichucky Gorge in NC and TN; it drops over 2000 vertical feet in places. In addition, Linville Gorge, also in NC, drops nearly 2000 vertical feet from the top rim to the river.
Calling this an "Interstate" park obscures the kind of park this is. No indication that this is a National Park Service park, or a Kentucky state park, or a Virginia state park, or even a privately owned park. Perhaps I made a hasty reading of the linked website, but Wikipedia should tell us more.-- DThomsen8 ( talk) 00:14, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
This is an interstate park because it lies within both Virginia and Kentucky. As far as I know, it is one of only two interstate parks in the U.S. It is not a national park. Both Virginia and Kentucky equally support this park. "Breaks Interstate Park" is the offical title of this park. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deel k ( talk • contribs) 12:23, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
I reverted the removal of "Grand Canyon of the South", because whether or not it was invented by a tourism board, it's called that in reliable sources: [1]. I also reverted the removal of the claim that it's the deepest gorge with the argument that Little River Canyon is deeper, because the WP article on it says it's 600 feet deep (and so does this source: [2]), while Breaks is over 1600 feet according to [3] and [4].
