I always understood that "Blasphemous Rumours" was about 2 episodes of the same girl's life, not 2 different girls. The suicide attempt at 16, the "born again" moment when she hit 18, only to be jerked around by fate when she gets killed.

As I remember (having been there), the rainstorm over the Rose Bowl was a thunderstorm, the lightning making it all the more impressive given the accompaniment. GJK 20:11, 17 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Cleanup

Removed an argument between two editors over whether it's pots and pans or screeching tires - that doesn't belong in the article. Also removed info about the song "Somebody" - that info belongs in an article about that song, not in an article about "Blasphemous Rumours". Stay on topic, kids. 72.184.121.102 ( talk) 10:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Reverted. This article is about the double A-side single "Blasphemous Rumours/Somebody" so info about "Somebody" rightfully belongs here. Although it is somewhat ORish, IMHO. 213.159.252.250 ( talk) 23:41, 6 January 2009 (UTC) reply
  • Did someone maybe re-add the info about "somebody"? What possible relevence does it have in this song's listing?-- Photoactivist ( talk) 20:17, 11 August 2011 (UTC) reply

Split proposal

These two songs are independently notable an should have separate articles ( Blasphemous Rumours and Somebody [Depeche Mode song]). They are not notable for the fact that they were on the same physical medium release nearly 40 years ago. (NB WP:CONTENTSPLIT). —  AjaxSmack  02:46, 27 February 2023 (UTC) reply
