Fernand Braudel is listed as dying around ten years before the national library opened. I can't say that I much about him but it seems that there might be a time error. Either that or the story about him writing The Structures of Ordinary Life after being refused a library card there must be wrong. Just to reinforce the above statements, here's the Google search results for the two phrases (may not be entirely accurate but at least gives an idea):

• "Bibliothèque nationale de France" in English: 376,000
• "National Library of France" in English: 27,600

Since the naming conventions say "Name your pages in English and place the native transliteration on the first line of the article unless the native form is more commonly recognized by readers than the English form" (own emphasis), probably the French term should be used. - kotra ( talk) 07:04, 27 June 2008 (UTC) reply

I came here looking for information on the building that houses the national collection. I tried to visit it not too long after it was finished but could not get access. Any-way, I was expecting a discussion of the architecture of this building, but found almost none. I was also expecting an exterior picture, since when it was built that was of great interest; but I found none. Can't we cadge a picture from the French Wik site on the library?
