Virtually every piece of information about this library that could be construed as critical or controversial has been removed. It that really appropriate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.226.69.39 ( talk) 17:06, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Fernand Braudel is listed as dying around ten years before the national library opened. I can't say that I much about him but it seems that there might be a time error. Either that or the story about him writing The Structures of Ordinary Life after being refused a library card there must be wrong. Either his date of death is wrong, it is a different library or something else. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.62.111.10 ( talk) 13:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
According to Naming_conventions, the title page should be on the English name with a REDIRECT from the original French name, and not the other way round. Clpda ( talk) 21:32, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments/statements. Since this actually goes beyond the case of the BnF, I have posted my reply on Talk:List_of_national_libraries (section 'English vs. original name'). Clpda ( talk) 00:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
I came here looking for information on the building that houses the national collection. I tried to visit it not too long after it was finished but could not get access. Any-way, I was expecting a discussion of the architecture of this building, but found almost none. I was also expecting an exterior picture, since when it was built that was of great interest; but I found none. Can't we cadge a picture from the French Wik site on the library?
