Non-competitive game

Many people are familiar with the sport of beach tennis as described at Matkot, that is, a non-competitive physical execise that can be played almost anywhere. Clearly the writers of this page have a commercial operation in mind. Editors (you) have a golden opportunity to express their awareness of the informal game that is frequently found on the beach. Keeping the ball aloft is a win-win sport. As users of this organ of democracy, WP, we should show a willingness to stand up to those that would turn everything to gold. Seems rather promotional... another look is needed here.

This appears to be written for a promotional pamphlet. Will someone please take a second look to check for its neutrality (there appears to be quite a bit of puffery and editorializing, for example) and appropriate sourcing? Thanks. B.Wind ( talk) 04:11, 21 February 2009 (UTC) reply

I agree, also the Sport in Italy article mentions the game was invented in Italy —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crictv69 ( talkcontribs) 00:58, 14 June 2009 (UTC) reply

I can attest it was not invented in the 70s since my dad was playing the game in the late 50s and 60s in Greece. The Greek name is "ρακετες" which is also the name of the solid wood paddles used. Finding a reference will be tricky though for the game's origins... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.203.234.62 ( talk) 13:50, 17 September 2014 (UTC) reply
