Why 70% of internet?

Sorry for being dumb. I don't understand why 70% of the internet comes through here, could it be explained? (personally, I was reading this page as I got a non-hacker bot visiting from here on my site, so I was curious to figure out who is this non-hacking bot) -- Squidonius ( talk) 15:24, 25 August 2018 (UTC) reply

There are a lot of datacenters in Loudon County, so it's fair to say that a lot of internet traffic passes through the county. But that 70% figure is *definitely* incorrect, and embarrassingly so. https://blog.telegeography.com/does-70-of-the-worlds-internet-traffic-flow-through-virginia 2601:180:8300:6328:DB66:8141:8B88:D8FE ( talk) 13:48, 11 November 2020 (UTC) reply
@ Squidonius: I reworded it to something that's unambiguously true. See User:Vahurzpu/70 percent of internet traffic for some more background on this claim. TL;DR the county Economic Development Authority still maintains that this is true, citing a confidential report, so I'm not willing to put in the article that this is false, but it's fair to claim it's true.
