"The United States of America is a relatively young country, and the overriding theme of American Architecture is modernity, with the 20th century skyscraper as its ultimate symbol."
I just got a list of 257 countries of the world and I would say, without actually having done the math, that the USA is older than 2/3s of them. If you do not believe me please get a list and do it your self. Please at least do that before you revert my edit. Einar aka

I noticed that someone had placed this string of links:
under the Beaux-Arts heading. Do they really belong there? My gut feeling is NO, but before I start slash and burning them I'd like to hear from you. Carptrash ( talk) 16:34, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
I re-evaluated the importance scale, as it was ranked as "low-importance" for priority of attention - much lower than many television shows. Considering that American Art and Cuisine are Top Importance (like many "X in the United States" ones), that this broad area (that merits its own wikiproject ; P ) can be overlooked as such, though it may not merit "Top" importance (ergo I put it at "high"). to add something about Spanish rule to the opening paragraph, where we state, " of over four centuries of independence and former British rule.", but I am not sure what link to use for it. Any ideas? Einar aka Carptrash ( talk) 14:02, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Architecture of the United States →
Architecture in the United States – To clarify we mean the United States as a present-day location rather than a state (or the nationality of the architect), as it includes pre-independence architecture (as the lead section clearly describes), and to avoid ambiguities such as U.*S. architects designing structures that are built outside the United States.
This follows a December 2022 restructuring of the category tree
Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2022 October 2#Architecture by country, in which the main category became
Category:Architecture in the United States rather than 'of'.
The preposition in is also in line with (
WP:TITLECON) articles such as:
Other articles named Architecture of Fooland may be similarly renamed as a follow-up if this RM is approved. I just find the United States a useful example to start with. NLeeuw ( talk) 06:26, 16 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. ❯❯❯ Raydann (Talk) 20:56, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
