In the list of vicariates, should the names be "Vicariate Apostolic" or "Apostolic vicariate" of such-and-such? In the Philippines it is "the Apostolic Vicariate of..." Why is it different here? If we are to create internal links and articles shouldn't we be consistent? -- Bruce Hall ( talk) 03:25, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
should probably include something on the context of the spread of apostolic vicariates globally. having to to with the papacy's efforts from the 17th century on to win back somce control of the Catholic Church from the colonial powers by creating new episcopal jurisdictions, often rivalling ones already established under imperial political authority (e.g. the portuguese padroado, spanish patronato) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:D:D180:868:4F3:D6B8:2CA3:B33C ( talk) 16:22, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
Should the statement that "inactive apostolic vicariates ... are in italics" be taken to mean that this list should include historical apostolic vicariates like that "of the District of London" or "of Newfoundland"?-- Richardson mcphillips ( talk) 02:09, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Historically, there have been circumscriptions that were designated as 'apostolic pro-vicariates', such as:

With today's appointment to Camiri, it now appears that new Vicars Apostolic will not be named to titular sees. I have not been able to confirm a policy change. But this is the 2nd one this month with no titular see noted. -- Dcheney ( talk) 11:26, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
