American Bushtit → Bushtit – "American Bushtit" is not the current official common name of Psaltriparus minimus based on the most recent AOU Checklist of North American Birds publication of common and scientific names of American birds. Against: Wikiproject Birds standardizes on IOU for english bird names, not the AOU. The IOU lists as American Bushtit. The American Bushtit english name is used to distinguish the species from other bushtits in the family Aegithalidae.... Pvmoutside ( talk) 17:19, 14 September 2012 (UTC) reply

Oppose. There are a number of birds that can be called bushtits for short. Perhaps, the American Bushtit it is called just "Bushtit" where it is found, but this can cause confusion on the Wiki. Snowman ( talk) 21:59, 14 September 2012 (UTC) reply
