Some sources say he was declared emperor by his sons. Was this before or after his death?-- Countakeshi 05:56, 10 July 2005 (UTC) reply

Spanish Wiki doesnt count him as King of Galicia. -- Tresckow 06:01, 7 February 2007 (UTC) reply

There is a contradiction in the article. The intro gives his exact date of death. The text of the article says that he probably died in 910. Spratsareours ( talk) 22:53, 20 November 2007 (UTC) reply

Alfonso III has never been known as the first king of LEON, but as the last of ASTURIAS, as a single, united kingom. Only after his death (or, as well, after his forced retirement)the separate kingdoms of ASTURIAS, LEON and GALICIA were recognized (even though headed by a single monarch). Title should be changed to "ALFONSO III OF ASTURIAS" (sse all references -images, etc..are in agreement with this). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.170.46.90 ( talk) 14:49, 27 November 2008 (UTC) reply
