Versace1608, Chanakal and Qaqaamba, I would recommend discussing the topic here, not on each other's talk pages. That way it's easier to find for editors who come to the topic later. Thanks for your message. I don't mind having a discussion here but I must point out that Qaqaamba has not followed previous discussions to its conclusion or answered questions I have asked him in the past. You can see a previous discussion we had at Talk: Burna Boy. Anyways, I presume you're from SA. If you are, maybe you can get through to Qaqaamba more effectively. Qaqaamba claimed that Afro fusion was developed in South Africa and that Freshlyground pioneered the genre. This is completely false and there isn't any reliable source to support this. I removed the sentence from the article and left a message on his talk page. He failed to respond to my message and instead decided to open a case at ANI. I'm not sure why he think I will get banned for adding citation needed templates to the article's info box and removing a sentence that isn't backed by reliable sources.  Versace1608  ^{Wanna Talk?} 15:58, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply

I kindly request that you refrain from consistently suggesting/"threatening" the removal of sourced information from this article, particularly, especially on other articles' talk pages, as you recently did at [1] and prior to on my talk page [2]. You're also persistently urging me to supply sources for claim(s) or statements that haven't been made. I believe every paragragh in the article has 1 or more citations. I reckon @ Slashme's suggestion is the most appropriate and logical for several evident reasons. The ongoing AfD discussion indicates or I assume that admins will thoroughly assess the entire article and its 90+ sources. Removing (sourced) information and/or sources, particularly during this critical process, could be disruptive , for various evident reasons. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. @ Qaqaamba: You are really being difficult. I asked you to provide a reliable source to support your claim that the genre was "globally popularized by Freshlyground". None of these sources ( ^{[1] [2] [3] [4]}) validate this info. You are refusing to provide reliable sources to support any of the info I object to. Where is the source that state that Afro fusion was first developed in South Africa? Where are the reliable sources that state that Afro fusion was stylistically derived from all of the genres listed in the infobox? You do not have any of the those genres mentioned in the article's body. I'm not sure how long you've been editing here but you definitely do not know how the AFD process works. For your info, in order for an article to be deleted via AFD, consensus will have to be reached. As things stand, a consensus has not been reached and probably won't be. The article will likely be closed as no consensus and will remain in mainspace. 1. It's great that you've come to understand the distinction between " pioneer" and " popularized" in their definitions.
2. All of the paragraphs in this article have 1 or more citations, additionally you may make use of the references list : Afro fusion#References, Example, as per WP:MNA , Afro fusion#Term and widespread usage : "After the musical style was globally popularized by Freshlyground and Shakira's Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which showcased afrofusion and soca" ^{[5] [2] [3] [6]}
3. Removing sourced information especially for no apparent valid reason or due to strange mischaracterizations may equate to Wikipedia:DE.

You keep dancing around this. None of these source state that "After the musical style was globally popularized by Freshlyground and Shakira's Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)". Where did you get this statement from? It doesn't appear that you know what disruptive means. Maybe one of the administrators you mentioned here can tell you that I am not being disruptive. I have made the changes I want to make. If you remove the CN templates from the infobox and re-add the sentence about Freshlyground globally popularizing the genre, I will revert your edit. When I have time, I will go through the entire article and checked all of the cited sources. If I find anything in the article that doesn't support the source cited, best believe I will remove it. If you do not respond to this thread or cite reliable sources to prove these things, I will restore the edits I made to the article. If you claim to be a credible editor, provide a reliable source to support these points.

(1) I need you to provide a reliable source that states that Afro fusion was first developed in South Africa.

(2) I need you to provide a reliable source that states that Afro fusion was pioneered by Freshlyground.

(3) I need you to provide reliable sources that state that Afro fusion was derived from all of the genres listed in the stylistic origin parameter. You do not have any of this mentioned in the article's body.
