'Most famous songs'

What's this sourced from, since I'd normally have considered Emergency and Feelin' Alright With the Crew to be two of the most commonly recognised 999 tracks. -- Monofiopia 12:24, 28 August 2006 (UTC) reply

That's odd, I have always thought, and heard from others, that "Homicide" was their most popular song. It's the one most people call for when I've seen them live. Gil gosseyn ( talk) 16:46, 13 January 2016 (UTC) reply

Fair use rationale for Image:999 - Wild Sun single picture cover.jpg

Image:999 - Wild Sun single picture cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Improving this article

I've begun to improve this article. I'm hoping to add a substantial amount of new material (with appropriate citations and references) in the next couple of days. Will anyone with an interest in early British punk bands please add this article to your watchlist and help with the editing. Thanks. Yozzer66 ( talk) 22:00, 16 August 2008 (UTC) reply

"Reviews" section

This section sounds too much like an advertising. I know it is sourced, but the problem is the way it is presented. Maybe just one or two statements should be added to the intro paragraph or something. Victão Lopes I hear you... 17:49, 26 February 2010 (UTC) reply

999 origional band members autograph photo

guys i was lucky too meet the band 20 odd years ago when they played some UNI in Glasgow and got all four members autographs on their famous 999 sticker.

I'm a huge fan of the band and a memorable day that was chatting with john Watson as some bird clung to nick cash in the dressing room, where me and my mate john who dragged me down too meet the band after the gig. And giving we where last in, we managed too stay longer. Thus I got the pen plus the bands autograph. Who all burst out laughing when the bird/groupies said... "I've no where to live tonight" as though she was handing herself on cash on a plate...

Good fun...

This is my property and you have the right to use it here within wikipedia with my full permission.. Just hope one of the band members pops by and says... Ye! that right I remember that ;))) http://media.photobucket.com/image/999%20dddoc/defiantpose/999autograph.jpg?o=1

Russian cover version of "Homicide"

In 1984 the band Альянс (Alyans, Aljans, or Alliance) did a Russian-language cover of "Homicide", entitled Хулиган (Hooligan). I didn't add this to the article because the band doesn't have an English Wikipedia page. Amusingly, someone made a YouTube mashup with the "Homicide" video and Хулиган lyrics. -- P.T.
