The article states the unit was redesignated as a Fighter Squadron shortly before inactivation in 1991. This has no supporting reference, and I believe it is inaccurate. Since the squadron was scheduled for inactivation shortly after the 48th Tac Ftr Wing dropped the "Tactical", it retained its designation until the bitter end.-- Lineagegeek ( talk) 20:02, 7 May 2013 (UTC) reply
