This article is about the Sabres' current season- that is why it is not the Sabres' transactions for 2007-2008, not the Sabres' playoffs for 2007-2008, not the Sabres' overall standings 2007-2008, not anything else.
The game played on December 22nd involved a goal being scored to tie on the road with 7.2 seconds left, a shootout victory, and former Sabres adding to the drama. It was no ordinary regular season game, and it deserves to be added. It is not my fault that other hockey season pages are not as contributed to as this one, and great games are not added.
Please do not revert my edit until consensus has been gained on this issue. Thank you. Monsieurdl mon talk- mon contribs 19:09, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
My evidence of material similar to mine added:
On January 16 in Phoenix, Washington Capitals rookie wing Alexander Ovechkin added himself to the league's historical highlight reel by scoring a goal from his back while rolling and sliding past the goal. Ovechkin was checked to the ice by Coyotes defenseman Paul Mara on a breakaway between the Coyotes' faceoff circles, but rolled to his back, reached over his head with his stick and hooked the puck in behind goaltender Brian Boucher. (Watch Ovechkin's goal at Google Video)
On February 22, 2007, eight games went to overtime, setting a record for most on one day.[25] Four of these games went to a shootout. One of the shootouts, between the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres, was the culmination of a game that saw a huge fight, the result of a late hit on Sabres co-captain Chris Drury, that resulted in 100 penalty minutes and three game misconduct ejections.
The Senators opened the regular season with two straight wins over their rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Battle of Ontario. The season opener at Toronto ended in overtime with right winger Dany Heatley notching two goals and an assist to start the season off 1-0-0. That afternoon, Heatley also agreed to a new contract, a six year, $45 million deal.[4] The Senators earned another win the following day in their home opener, with captain Daniel Alfredsson scoring two goals. Before the game, the 2007 Eastern Conference Champions banner was raised to the rafters of Scotiabank Place.
The Sens went undefeated to start the season until the streak was snapped in their sixth game with a 5-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, on October 11. In a later win vs. Montreal, rookie and draft pick Nick Foligno scored his first NHL goal off a wrap-around attempt on Carey Price. He celebrated the goal by imitating his father Mike's signature goal celebration, a high jump.
After a 4 - 2 win against Montreal, the Senators entered into a 7-game losing skid (0-4-3) recording 3 points, matching a record for straight losses set in the 1995-1996 season.

Seems to be covered but a single game that was won in this fasion is not significantly notable to be on this page. It's a season recap page, not a game by game summary. Come from behind wins with shootouts have happened a number of times now and the shootout is only a few years old so it will only become more and more common. - Djsasso ( talk) 05:52, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
