The date for Gilani's completion of his BA seems erroneous. In 1970, Gilani would have been 18 years old, which meant that he started university at the age of 15 or younger. Likewise, the MA degree in 1976 seems to have take longer than they usually do. I think that he started his BA in 1970, and completed it in 1974. Can someone who has more information on this correct this? Thankyou Farazars ( talk) 18:32, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
I removed this [1] from the article. If re-adding it, please could you keep it in line with the Biographies of living persons policy. AntHolnes ( talk) 22:48, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
The news accounts I've been reading don't have "Syed". Is this a less common first name? If it is, maybe we should consider dropping it from the title. (Leaving it, of course, in the first introductory line) Erudy ( talk) 22:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
I doubt it. Alefbe ( talk) 18:30, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Is he from an Iranian origin? Because, Gilan is a northern province of Iran. Although, it's hard to determine. Iran and Pakistan were a united country for more 1000 years... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.42.2.24 ( talk) 12:58, 1 July 2008 (UTC) As i know gillani sahib always use syed with the name but media use makhdoom when he elected the prime minister as official the name was syed yousaf raza gillani in all his doccuments Naqash Zafar Raan

Yousaf Raza Gillani → Yousaf Raza Gilani — While his name appears with both spellings, it is more frequently spelled "Gilani" with one "L". — Dracunculus ( talk) 00:27, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

"In 2009 Gillani was ranked as the 38th most powerful person in the world by Forbes following osama bin laden.[5]" What's the link between terrorist osama bin laden and prime minister of pakistan?
I changed a ton of "Yousaf Raza Gillani" spellings to the correct "Yousuf Raza Gilani." -- PressReview — Preceding unsigned comment added by PressReview ( talk • contribs) 12:11, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
You're right, the Govt. of Pakistan Web site spells it "Gillani" and I see why the confusion started. On the other hand, the Urdu only has one "L" in "Gilani" and it's spelled correctly on over 7,000,000 sites, versus less than 1,000,000 that spell it as it is in Wikipedia. In any case, I've got no dog in this hunt, so I'll leave this dog alone. I'm not even Pakistani, and if nobody there wants to change it, who am I to butt in? Sorry to have acted rashly. -- PressReview — Preceding unsigned comment added by PressReview ( talk • contribs) 17:44, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Just today, he seems to have contacted the UK embassy that there are plans to overthrow him (from the military). I have no idea at all whether any of this is true or not, but I think it should be mentioned in the article, given that this is not the first time that he stated so (the wikipedia article already mentions a similar statement from him in December 2011) 194.166.29.132 ( talk) 17:07, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Could the pronunciation of "Gilani" be put in the lead? In particular, is the initial "G" hard or soft, and where does the accent fall? Ammodramus ( talk) 14:01, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
Gillani was disqualified on 26 April 2012 and his holding of office inappropriately till 19 June 2012 cannot be counted in his tenure as the Supreme Court of Pakistan's judgement itself says that the office of Prime Minister is deemed vacant from 26 April 2012. The issue is very much clear I guess. -- SMS Talk 11:51, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

The section VIP culture is written quite promotional and I don't think we need this section on the page.Monfernape 23:01, 28 February 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by عثمان خلیل ( talk • contribs)
I noticed that while this page is called Yusuf Raza Gilani, other pages spell the name as "Yousaf Raza Gillani"? Category:Government of Yousaf Raza Gillani and Category:Yousaf Raza Gillani are some examples. What's up with that? LilianaUwU ( talk / contributions) 23:13, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
