One possible source that might be useful (has some information not in here) is this site on
Russian emigre art in Russian. Seems to contain some useful information we don't have here yet.
I'm not sure if it is B-class or not, because I haven't really dabbled in that before - @
Mercurywoodrose: is
this the right set of standards to assess that? —

Yes, and some projects have slightly more info, as does WikiProject Russia:
Wikipedia:WikiProject Russia/Assessment, and likely more editors willing to review it than California, Biography, or Stanford, which he is less connected to. ive added the template info to that project banner above, in case anyone wants to use it.

Looks to me like it is definitely B-class, but I'll try to poke them and see what they think :) Is the idea that you just post on their talk page and ask for a review, or...? For my own reference, another good source on
his politics and significance - it should replace the "notes" (by the same author) that are currently citation #2. -

I think thats correct. soliciting editors to help get an article to b class, at project talk pages, is ok. You could also go to
Wikipedia:Reviewing good articles, and nominate for GA review, which could get other editors not connected to a project involved.

After several more years of editing experience, and more cleanup, I've been Bold and moved this to B-Class! I'd nominate for Good Article but have zero desire to engage in warfare around the licensing of the images. —
