I've restored the {{advert}} tag that
User:81.178.80.198 removed without comment. In my opinion the tag is fully justified: the article currently reads like a promotional brochure for the school.
Examples:
(from the lead) 'a sense of history, tradition and continuity pervades the modern school'
'Children receive a thoroughly good grounding in all subjects'
'if a child is musical then the school has much to offer'
'The happiness of each child while they are at the Prebendal is of paramount importance'
(In the 'Pre-prep' section) 'We aim to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment in which children can feel secure and confident.'
I could go on. Please:
do not remove the {{advert}} tag again without discussion
tone down the POV considerably
the tag has been removed again so I propose {{db-spam}} (PS I forgot to sign previous comment)

How about I just protect the page against anonymous users? I agree it reads like an advert in places but it is also a large article which would probably deserve more work than deletion. I will remove the db tag just to give you time to respond here to my message.

Thanks - I'm not against the article in principle, and it clearly has potential. Anti-anon protection sounds good to me: I suggest we re-add the advert tag though.

I already did, unless it has gone again. If it has I will be having words with whoever removes it
SGGHspeak! 17:31, 27 January 2008 (UTC)reply
If we remove that part it should be good to go, the lead (bar 1 or 2 advert lines) seems at a glance to be good to go.
SGGHspeak! 17:31, 27 January 2008 (UTC)reply
Article is Semi-Protected, I'm off to have words with this IP.

Oh incidentally, my watchlist is pretty blocked up, if problems continue you can let me know on my talk page. Happy editing

POV
i don't know what POV stands for but i think i will help edit this article by toning down the POV.
there is currently no advert tag and i don't know who removed it - i'll put one up for the time being.

Timothymurphy (
talk) 21:07, 8 March 2008 (UTC) i've just brutally cut down this article. i hope this is ok. i just cut out lots of language that was just PR speak to make things more concise and impartial.reply
still, we need some references and sources. someone needs to go to the library. there must be loads of good books about this very historic school.
i can't believe the level of gushing hyperbole there was in this article, and so many refernces to "we" - we aim to provide blah blah... "we take national curriculum principles and combine them with traditional vaules to provide a broad base and wide curriculum..."
i also removed many internal links, such as every mention of
children - if somebody doesn't know what a child is, they probably don't need to be looking up schools...

p.s. i didnn't put up an advert tag - not sure if it needs one

importance rating
i would give this article a high importance rating because of being such an anicent school. it has an important place in the history of education for england and the world; for how schools have developed as institutions in the modern world. —Preceding
