Production
Chopra's other 2003 film Andaaz was supposed to be her debut Bollywood film, but The Hero: Love Story of a Spy was releasing a month before and thus becoming her debut film. [1] [2]
Zinta said she enjoyed doing the film as it gave her a chance to see the mountain tops, a first in her life, and she was happy to be associated with the film which she thought had "a terrific script". [3] The actress further revealed that she identified with her character, saying "I come from Himachal Pradesh and I know about life there. I just had to relearn some more details with the help of my director." [3] Chopra said that being a part of a big film like this seemed like a good option for her, when asked about the reason for choosing the film, which she thought was "a very emotional subject." [4]
