What is the actual definition of one degree EBC. This European Brewing Convention redirects here, but there is only a conversion from SRM to EBC. I'm assuming EBC is not a derived unit, but a direct measurement.

Doing some rough calculations it might be absorbance in a 1cm cell multiplied by 25. These numbers make the conversion about right, but it's not necessarily the right measurment technique.

Why no EBC article
Why is there no article for EBC colour measurement when this is the international system? And why is their an article for SRM, which is only used in North America? For that matter why do the beer articles give colours in SRM and not EBC units? —Preceding

I came here to ask the same question. I wanted to know who defined EBC, when they did it, how it's defined, and so on, and all I get is an article on SRM with a conversion rule. Surely EBC deserves its own article? --
