Shouldn't it say Frank Capras "It's a Wonderful Life" rather than Franz Kafka? or is there a different later parody version callled Franz Kafkas It's a Wonderful Life? Benson85 02:17, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Could someone Please change "On 4 August 2013, it was announced in a live special that Capaldi would become the twelfth actor to portray the Doctor on Doctor Who, succeeding Matt Smith". The word should be "superseding" not succeeding. It's bugging the hell out of me that I can't correct it xD — Preceding unsigned comment added by KiyoTatsu ( talk • contribs) 18:48, August 4, 2013
Peter Capaldi just got announced as the new Doctor Who live on the BBC. This page is going to see some major traffic (and maybe a few vandals). Big Mac ( talk) 18:33, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Yes I was correctly editing and was not amused that I was thrown out. That is just rude. I am a big donator to Wiki and do not appreciate this fascist approach to editors. I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that Capaldi actually plays a doctor for the WHO in World War Z - a movie that premiered a month before Matt Smith's exit from the series was officially announced and was obviously scripted and filmed long before that. Surely this can't be a coincidence? And if not, shouldn't it be mentioned in the article? dllu ( talk) 06:56, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

In Peter Capaldi#Early life, move the guard060831 ref after the comma, to reflect the fact that it confirms only that he was in the Dreamboys. The end result should be something like the following:

A news item involving Peter Capaldi was featured on Wikipedia's main page in the In the news section on 5 August 2013.
When did this happen? I didn't see it, and it's not there now, nor is it in the non-mainpage long version. It should still be there, since this is the 6th, and things from before the 5th are still there. So obviously, the ITN template is wrong and should be deleted. Or did something very weird happen? -- 76.65.128.222 ( talk) 12:50, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Peter confirmed this morning in a short on-air interview with LBC 97.3 Presenter Steve Allen than he is is currently living in "a lovely little village just on the outskirts of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and have been since 1994." Broadcast this morning at 05:13 on 97.3FM in London. Sadly the interview contained nothing on the new Who series. I suggest this is added to early life.

Sorry to nit-pick but the character he plays is referred to as the Twelfth Doctor, not the twelfth incarnation of the doctor, as he is technically the thirteenth (due to the War Doctor). It should be addressed as since the War Doctor's reveal there has been mass confusion on the numbering. We should strive for consistency. So Twelfth Doctor, not twelfth incarnation.
We could say "...and is known for his role as the Twelfth Doctor..."
Or
"...and is known for playing the incarnation of the Doctor known as the Twelfth Doctor..."

In the Television section of the filmography the link for [[The Doctor]] links to Doctor a disambiguation page when it should direct to the Twelfth Doctor page so this needs to be edited to [[Twelfth Doctor|The Doctor]]. Thought this would help.

This ancient wikidictionary thing is so archaic it doesn't even know what social media is. I've tried several times to add Doctor Who's facebook page but the mindless autobot running this useless website just doesn't get it. Are you trying to tell me wackopedia won't accept the most popular webpages on the net as external links? What? That moron Jimbo scared of facebook? Get up to date you cabal fools running this laughable site. You risk becoming as outdated as Myspace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.132.97.74 ( talk) 01:26, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
In the Doctor Who section there is a quote in which Capaldi explains why he initially didn't want to play the Doctor. It reads: "I didn't go. I loved the show so much, and I didn't think I would get it, and I didn't want to just be part of a big [[Culling|cull]] of actors." And there's even a link to the word cull.
Now I can completely understand why Capaldi wouldn't want to be involved in a massacre of actors, a slaughter of actors. Self-preservation is after all a powerful incentive. But it's not very likely that that's what he actually said. In the context, he probably said a cult of actors, and it's just a typo in the quoted source.
I tried to correct it, but another Wikipedian changed it back and said that when we quote something we have to reproduce it exactly as it is in the source. Fair enough I suppose, but that's not a reason to write nonsense in a Wikipedia article. So I took out the last clause, so the quote ended at "I didn't think I would get it." I thought that was a reasonable solution, but it just started an edit war.
So I'd like to get a consensus here to remove an obvious error from a Wikipedia article. I realise that may be a bit of a tall order, but I'm ever the optimist. Richard75 ( talk) 10:35, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
The article lists Peter Capaldi and Lewis Capaldi as second cousins but in the source Lewis only states "I think we are second cousins", and in another interview [3] Peter states "my father's brother is his grandfather", which from my understanding from Cousin, would make Lewis and Peter first cousins once removed.
I am neither confident enough in my wikipedia editing skills, nor my understanding of family tree terminology to make the edit to Peter Capaldi or Lewis Capaldi, could a fellow wikipedian please confirm my understanding and make the edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BenedickBenedick ( talk • contribs) 13:55, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Current article reads "...although he was shown briefly in the closing seconds of the 50th anniversary special, Day of the Doctor, on 23 November 2013...."
This is incorrect. He was shown briefly in the closing seconds of the 2013 Christmas special, Time of the Doctor, on 25th December 2013. He also appeared as a brief cameo in the 50th anniversary special, Day of the Doctor, on 23 November 2013.

Should it also say that Capaldi is known for his portrayal of Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It? Certainly that’s the role that put him on the radar and still one that comes to mind for most British people.
His role as the Doctor is of course more widely known but I think it does him a disservice to suggest that’s all he’s known for. Jaredjeya ( talk) 12:40, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
