Surely the plot of this episode was largely lifted from the Star Trek original series, third season episode "The Savage Curtain"? I actually watched the Red Dwarf episode first, and The Savage Curtain recently, and the similarities are striking.

I think one information is missing in section about cultural references. Elvis sings a parody on some US army march, it is very important cultural reference. But I dont know name of this song. Please, can somebody add it? Thanks. -- Gjjm ( talk) 18:59, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
I know it's OR so I can't mention it in the article, but I saw a repeat of the episode yesterday and the end credit says 'Pythagorus' not 'Pythagoras'. Careless, really. LenF54 ( talk) 16:51, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
