mutahhari was NOT a marja... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.126.150.57 ( talk) 14:31, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
This particular "Ansari" appears twice in the list: at 31 and at 33. Trying to correct this, I found the page much too bothersome to edit. Maybe someone could find a better way to arrange the data? -- BjKa ( talk) 09:57, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
Guys... and ladies... I hate to break the news to you, but most of these esteemed fellows were not actually maraji. Certainly, some of the names in the contemporary section (like 'Allamah Tabataba'i and Ayatollah Motahhari) were never recognized as maraji. As for the ones from earlier years, such as Aban ibn Taghlab... it is a really big stretch to call him a 'marja' in the contemporary sense, particularly since the concept of the marja'iyyah as we know it today did evolve over time. Definitely given the definition of 'marja' given at the beginning that is extremely erroneous - clearly he was not the undisputed authority over Shi'a at the time since the Imam was still present.
Source: This is common knowledge. I have a degree in Islamic Studies. Trying to find a source to 'prove' that this is a historical projection might be like trying to find a source saying that Ibn Sina didn't use an iPad. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gamma Draconis ( talk • contribs) 17:25, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Saw this link at an article called The Great Shia Ulama of India. Did not check this Wikipedia article to see if these men are already on it. https://www.imamreza.net/old/eng/imamreza.php?id=6904 CryMeAnOcean ( talk) 22:04, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
