I think it's important to note that Larry does not only perform fusion music, but also performs (and composes) in the genre of mainstream jazz music. -- Ksteveh ( talk) 19:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
I've added some material, and a couple of times did not (yet) add in-line citations - in those instances, the information comes from various articles of Downbeat, Record Review, and Gig magazine. I will add the references shortly. I'm glad that many of his records have their own articles - that helps. Larry's work from 1967-1980 was pretty influential (especially the much-noted work with Gary Burton), and he still made solid recordings after that, such as Equipoise. According to the bio page on Coryell's official website,
That doesn't jibe with the article's unsourced

But I have no idea how to resolve this. -- Thnidu ( talk) 16:45, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
Her religion is irrelevant, and religion is not mentioned anywhere else in the article. Deleted. -- Thnidu ( talk) 16:42, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
Her ethnicity might be of interest to readers - if the information was properly cited, it will go back in. 104.169.17.29 ( talk) 02:59, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Strange mess: "Jewish" is ethnicity, religion is Judaism. Tockman ( talk) 01:00, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
There's nothing else in the article that would support the relevance of Ms Coryell's religion or ethnicity. In fact, a significant number of Jews are not ethnically Jewish so the assumption here is interesting. If idle interest is enough to include it, why is Larry's not mentioned. Given the history of people being interested in whether or not someone is Jewish for nefarious reasons, WP should step lightly here. In fact, most of that paragraph seems more appropriate for inclusion in a Julie Nathanson Coryell page than in her husband's. I own that fusion book and it's fine, but it doesn't belong here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VAMark ( talk • contribs) 20:03, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
In the Biography section, there's a reference to the Brubeck Brothers: "Coryell [released] an album with the Brubeck Brothers that was recorded direct-to-disc." I first assumed you meant the Brecker Brothers, since Coryell has recorded numerous times with both Breckers, esp. Randy. But I went digging and found a Discogs listing of 1978's Better Than Live, credited to Larry Coryell & The Brubeck Brothers at https://www.discogs.com/Larry-Coryell-Brubeck-Brothers-Better-Than-Live/release/3011595.
I'm writing with the assumption that I may not be the only confused reader (or maybe I am), and to suggest that the title and year of the Coryell/Brubecks LP be added, with a link below to the Discogs page that references it. I'm uncertain if Better Than Live is the specific D2D recording you were referring to, so I haven't changed anything on the page; better to change nothing than to screw up a well-written and -researched article. Let me know if I missed anything obvious... it happens. Thanks. Username: folder1 / Real name: Peter F 02:10, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm going to be manually reverting nearly all of the recent edits by Owens88. They're clearly written by someone close to the subject and inject completely unsourced and biased content ("Following in their father's footsteps, they both continue to flourish as brilliant musicians," "Larry Coryell is remembered as one of the 20th centuries most innovative and prolific jazz artists, whose technical prowess and ability to seamlessly blend different musical genres. His legacy lives on through his groundbreaking music and enduring influence on the evolution of jazz guitar. His rich musical legacy is a testament to his creativity and adventurous spirit," info about his marriages, etc).
Out of respect for the editor, I will leave in a couple additions that were sourced, but I'm going to be moderating the language. Theturbolemming ( talk) 22:57, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
