Inconsistency
There is inconsistency between "he ... campaigned against temperance" in the lead, and " he supported temperance... " in the section Role of bishop. Both cannot be right.---

Looks like a typo. I reviewed the source and corrected the lead. The original contributor should of course feel free to edit further.
