Did Mariategui had only one child? I was under the impression that he had two - Sandro, his firstborn, and then another one. I may be wrong, of course - I don't have any sources with me - perhaps I am thinking of a nephew.
Perhaps it is worth adding towards the end the full passage from which the "sendero luminoso" phrase was taking? A sentence or two on Mariategui's not favoring mass murder as a way to revolution might be in order, no? Can anybody come up with quotes? Hasdrubal 20:59, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Amauta, the publication, should have its own page instead of just redirecting into Inca education.-- Jersey Devil 02:00, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

The article says:
Mariátegui's ideas dramatically lost importance in Peruvian politics after the fall of Berlin Wall and the presidency of Alberto Fujimori. He has been overshadowed by the resurgence of classic liberalism.
I think Mariategui´s ideas didn´t lost importance in peruvian politics, that´s an subjective opinion without any citation, in addition, the classic liberalism not "overshadow" his thought, but it does more current, remember he was not a "classical communist", but he was an socialist who admired to Gandhi, Romain Rolland, etc.-- Alparla ( talk) 01:33, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
The injury led to severe health problems later in life.
Didn't he suffer from bone tuberculosis? His childhood injury was then merely incidental to his general health condition. His severe health problems did not follow from his injury - rather, his injury became severe because of his health problems. Feketekave ( talk) 23:51, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
