I deleted that section where it said J.P. Schönborn supported the candidacy of Louis XIV to the dignity of Emperor as it is patently untrue. That project of Mazarin was never taken seriously in Germany.
From a book I'm reading these days: "But Mazarin was mistaken regarding the feasability of his project. At the end of August 1657, the Archbishop-Elector of Mainz, Johann Philipp von Schönborn, broke the news as gently as he could to Mazarin and the French court that he and his colleagues were not seriously contemplating bestowing the Imperial dignity on the French King".
