So, I've seen this has become a bit of an edit/revert cycle. I'm not involved in that, but...

From a web accessibility point of view, blue is preferable to the # code being used. That code is not a " web safe colour" - as a result different browsers may render it differently. blue (or #00f if absolutely necessary) is web safe and so, from a technical point of view, would be preferable.
