The liner notes of his album "Jackie Vernon - A Man and his watermelon" report that Jackie Vernon was born on Friday the 13th, in 1929, in NY City. This differs from the date in this article. Which is correct? WES
Friday the 13th, 1929, is not very helpful. September and December 1929 both had Friday 13ths. -- Naaman Brown ( talk) 01:46, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
The lines to the hitchhiker joke seem out of order. It makes no sense. He would have had to have the hitchhiker already in the car when he went out to get the coins. Also, the rendition is better if the hitchhiker is mentioned in the beginning, then comes back surprisingly at the end. AtomAnt ( talk) 13:14, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Fun anecdote about Vernon and Chaplin in Vegas, but CC left the US in 1952 and only went back in 1972, for a very brief visit. The Cerf article was published in 1967.
What the referenced Cerf article actually says is that Vernon met CC in London, not in Vegas. Why put in the anecdote if you can't be bothered to read the reference? 94.191.136.68 ( talk) 15:38, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
