Just to compare, their principal measurement, length I guess or height if you prefer, what was it?
Perhaps this disagreement over Homotherium and whether it belongs in suborder feliformia should be referred to a moderator?

I removed this from the article, because my sources (Alan Turner: The fossil cats and their fossil relatives) say something else.

The scimitar-toothed cat is merely one particular species of Homotherium. Homotherium latidens is another. I suggest that this article be rewritten in a way that says this. A Panthera article wouldn't just talk about tigers or leopards. It would speak of the genus in general. Pinguinus ( talk) 23:02, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
I think that the Homotherium serum article should be re-created, just with much more information (so that the article would qualify as a C class or B class article). Also, the new species articles, Homotherium crusafonti and Homotherium venezuelensis shouldn't be deleted because they talk about information that is not displayed in the article.
