Since the Gibson article is currently the official article for Norlin Musical Instruments, I feel there should be a bit more effort to give it justice. For example the Moog brand of synthesizers was apparently part of Norlin from 1971 to 1987. According to its article, Moog Music went bankrupt in 1987. Surely there's some connection with the 1986 buyout of the Gibson brand here? -- BjKa ( talk) 13:33, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: moved to Gibson (guitar company); dab page moved to base title. ( closed by non-admin page mover) Extraordinary Writ ( talk) 06:17, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
– This page should be moved simply because Gibson is just too common of a surname to be the namespace of a guitar company (just like how Ford was moved to Ford Motor Company) and then move the disambiguation page to 'Gibson'. There's also several places and other companies called Gibson. Perhaps someone can suggest a better title than 'Gibson Brands, Inc.', but I do believe it should be moved from its current namespace. The result of the move discussion archived above was that this page was moved from Gibson to Gibson (guitar company) to make was for the da page. Somebody then boldly moved it to its current position at Gibson Brands. Now that the company name is no longer Gibson Brands, Inc., would it be controversial to move it back to Gibson (guitar company)? -- rbrwr ± 18:25, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
