After several reverted edits to the article, including some vandalism, I believe that it is time to clarify the difference between floorball and other sports. The beginning of the article states that floorball is also known as floor hockey. That's the way it's going to stay, and searching up 'floor hockey' will redirect you to this article.
What I believe people are trying to say, especially in Canada, is that floor hockey is a completely different sport. This is true to an extent, but the sport they are talking about happens to be either ball hockey or cosom hockey.
What do you think? Zadora13 ( talk) 23:26, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I think that Zadora13 should go edit the polish wikipedia, and leave the English to the people who are blessed enough to know how to use it properly. You don't know what you're talking about, and this is the last day FLOOR HOCKEY redirects to your weak sport you seem to want to push on everyone. FLOORBALL IS FOR polocks who can't score! GO CANADA!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thewalrus69 ( talk • contribs) 08:27, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Thewalrus69, your comment doesn't appear to be very civil. WP:NPA.-- The Legendary Sky Attacker 08:34, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Search me up on google, and you'd see that I'm a member of the Canadian national floorball team. Makes you seem like an idiot for saying that now, doesn't it? And if anything, my English is sufficiently better than yours. Zadora13 ( talk) 05:12, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
" Floor hockey" is a term for a class of games not a particular game. Cf. cue sports vs. nine-ball. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 19:11, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Removed "in Europe called Unihockey" from the beginning of the article, because it's a sort of false statement. For instance, I'm a European and have played floorball for a long time, but have never before come across the term "Unihockey". It may be true that it's called Unihockey in German-speaking countries... but that's not really the same as Europe. "In Europe called salibandy" or "In Europe called innebandy" would be similarly false. Let's just call it floorball, as that's the correct name in English. -Jonik — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonik ( talk • contribs) 11:37, 2 January 2004 (UTC)
Is the correct name not Indoor Bandy? -- Dahlis 14:24, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Is Unihoc an alternative name? We use it in Ireland but use a light puck or the ball (btw physics professor says that ball so shaped is called a "quiffle"? or something similar)- Bogger 12:15, 30 November 2006 (GMT)

The article has way too many links to external sites ... it has to be cleaned up. I'll keep equipment manufacturers and leagues, but all the other stuff must be deleted. Sorry. Unihockeypolska ( talk) 16:25, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Do you think there should be a section on IFF records (i.e. Highest game score, most penalty minutes, most goals by a player in an international, etc.)? Unihockeypolska ( talk) 20:32, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Just wanted to state that I have created 4 floorball-related pages. I created the 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2002 Men's World Floorball Championships pages. If you have any questions, put them into the discussion and I'll try my best to answer and fix the page. Feel free to edit the page, but I may go back and undo changes if I feel they are not right for the page. The links can be found on the Floorball main article page, where there is a table of all Men's world championship winners, or you can just select the year from here. 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002. If you make a floorball-related page, such as a player or club, place it here so that we can see and help expand it. Unihockeypolska ( talk) 16:54, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Does anyone have a picture of a new ball? Also, a stick might be nice… Kokiri 2 July 2005 23:34 (UTC)
The article notes that floorball may have gotten its start as floorhockey in the U.S. But is there actually any difference, aside from a governing body? I (and many Canadians) grew up playing floorhockey with regularity, and we never saw it as anything but hockey in a gymnasium. The lack of contact is hardly inimical to the presence of a floor, as most amateur hockey players (ice, floor, road, whatever) play without contact too. J21 04:39, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
I've removed a newly added section about "most accomplished players" as I think it is inherently POV. Lupo 06:27, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
I've updated the paragraph on physical contact to reflect floorball's ever increasing flexibility in terms of checking. What do you think?
I don't know anything about Floorball, and wanted to find out more. I think it would be helpful to the understanding of the sport if average game scores were included. Is it more like basketball or soccer? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.143.221.162 ( talk) 05:28, 14 May 2007 (UTC).
Hi i play floor ball at club level as a goalkeeper in Sweden although i am only born 97 many games end the same at other ages 4-3 5-7 so normally it is even Tortuga135 ( talk) 17:43, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Is there enough certainty about the origin and early history of floorball to simply state that "Floorball as a game comes from northern Europe"? An alternative theory, one I've come across quite a number of times, is that floorball was first played in the US, where it was discovered by a Dutchman, who took it to Rotterdam, where a number of Swedes discovered it, who took it to Sweden, where it was developed into the sport we now know as floorball. I wouldn't be surprised if there were similar stories involving other countries. What information is there on the early days of floorball? A ecis Brievenbus 23:40, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
It's called 'indoor bandy' in Sweden and Finland, the countries where it is most popular, bandy being a field-hockey related sport played on ice, different from ice hockey. The name and the stick design definitely implies it is derived from bandy, and does not originate from the USA, and is older than the 1970s. The sentence in the current article which says it does is also some random guy's opinion without any proof (why is it there...). Bandy is basically a winter version of field hockey, and floorball is an indoor version of it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.157.152.207 ( talk) 14:35, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
someone put up the imperial measurements, please! -- Pwnage8 ( talk) 22:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Do we really need all the results for all the tournaments? International tournaments, okay, sure, but national tournaments are probably not really necessary - partly for keeping the page readable, and partly because we cannot possibly be fair in deciding which national tournaments are more important than others. National tournament results probably belong on a national page (see Football in Scotland). If it becomes necessary, these can further be split up (see 2008-09 in Scottish football). I believe that we should work to getting floorball to FA status so that we can eventually have it on the Wikipedia Main Page as one of their featured daily articles. This way, the sport of floorball gets some recognition, and more people will begin contributing to it.
We will most likely need to clean up the article (results, federations), and add more sources, as well as getting in touch with the IFF for information. In addition to that, we will need someone to consult floorball on Swedish and Finnish Wikipedia's. The talk page will need to be cleaned up/archived, and people should start joining WikiProject Floorball in order to grow an important floorball resource.
I do believe I speak for everyone here in saying that we really want to see floorball grow and expand. Let's do something small (or big) to help out with floorball on Wikipedia. Feel free to leave your comments or concerns, or any propositions you may have.
Cheers,
Zadora13
