"Blogs" in this context refers to personal and group blogs. Some news outlets host interactive columns they call blogs, and these may be acceptable as sources so long as the writers are professional journalists or are professionals in the field on which they write and the blog is subject to the news outlet's full editorial control. Posts left by readers may never be used as sources.
Oh No They Didn't can be considered as a reliable source, because the blog re-posted what was originally on Just Jared. Links to JJ are blocked and considered by Wikipedia as spam. Also, ONTD was cited on O! Magazine, Playboy, and several magazines/websites.
Also, Dr. Luke twitter confirmed "Seal It With a Kiss" as a song of Britney's new album, but twitter is claimed as an unreliable source. However, Britney's twitter and Adam Leber's twitter are reliable, 'cause both are verified accounts. Dr. Luke's account on twitter is also a verified account, so it should be reliable too. If it isn't, then Britney's twitter isn't either.

Ok, I'm just confused as a lot of people here. Although MTV says that Inside Out is the next single of Femme Fatale, this was never confirmed by Britney or her representatives... I I I Wanna Go has also been confirmed as a single by Ryan Seacreast. Again, Britney's team didn't confirm this info. So PLEASE don't add any info saying that one of these two are the second single of the album. Just wait Britney herself or Adam Leber to confirm it. Sauloviegas ( talk) 00:09, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Since the infobox should reflect its article, the genre(s) that are included would be better off included based on several sources that have something consistent with each other; if most critics dub it "electro-pop" or "pop", for example, those should be included. But not an Allmusic reference that has the label "Pop/rock" for categorical purposes to serve its own database. Since no reference mention "rock", in prose atleast, critic or otherwise, it should probably be left out. I've encountered a similar issue with genre change, and have gotten helpful advice on such a matter at the WP:Albums talk page. Dan56 ( talk) 22:48, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

The Platinum certification is already out in the open, as there are lots of news websites that have already published the news. Though RIAA's website is not functional as of the moment for us to be able to confirm this, it seems like the claim isn't contested by RIAA. The news came from an official press release from Spears' camp.

Platinum is one million copies. She's sold 540,00 in the US - she's in no way platinum. Her record company are telling fibs. And the RIAA hasn't contested it because they have better things to do than run around disputing press releases. After many lengthly discussions at
WT:SONG a consensus was reached that a 'radio date = Single creation'. However, it is not called 'Release'. It's really 'sent to radio', 'impacting radio', etc but NOT 'released' to Radio because the industry does NOT call it that.
So when these are listed, (Radio) is NECESSARY to disambiguate the PREFORMATTED field that says "Released:" to indicate it is Radio and not a "RELEASE" (sales). It's really 'sent to radio' , 'impacting radio', 'going for adds' etc. but NOT 'released' to Radio because the industry does NOT call it that.
The other alternative is to not list any date, because there is is NOT a 'release' date, just a 'radio date'.—
Iknow23 (
talk) 02:31, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
There are a whole list of songs that are just radio adds. Also, any single that is released after the album comes out is just a "radio add" because the song has already been released digitally with the album, unless it is an official remix, like
E.T..
List of singles with just U.S. radio releases that dont have (radio) on the infobox
1. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) - Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album)
2. Firework (song) - Teenage Dream
3. LoveGame - The Fame - the digital download next to U.S. in Radio Add and Release History are two remixes, so they do not count as a digitally released single
4. Radar (song) - Circus (Britney Spears album)
5. California King Bed - Loud (Rihanna album)
6. S&M (song) - originally just a radio release
Gaga690 ( talk) 16:18, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Why would you remove the date of the single's release? It is without merit, and it is unnecessary. If there isnt a date, don't have "I Wanna Go" there at all. It must have a release date for it to be on the infobox. And I love how I'm the one in the edit war and the only one being remprimanded, while clearly everyone else is changing your edits and disagrees with you. Gaga690 ( talk) 17:51, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Promo releases exist for probably most singles but are generally not reported, but if known and can be sourced...well sure go ahead and add the material. But we must report the material accurately and not in a misleading fashion to the point that readers will think a 'promotional' release is a full release.— Iknow23 ( talk) 06:16, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
First of all, "I Wanna Go" is not a promo single. It is a full single with a radio release. Also, even if it were a promo single, (promotional) would not go next to its release date. The same website that says "promo" for "I Wanna Go" also says "promo" for "If U Seek Amy," and that does not have (promotional) next to any of its release dates. Also, " Hair" by Lady Gaga is an actual promo single, and there is no (promotional) next to its release date on the article page. Gaga690 ( talk) 18:20, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
I think this is fine to say. There will probably be a full release later on, with remix EPs and the whole extravaganza. See no need in putting (promotional) in the infobox though, so as you may have noticed, I removed it earlier. ℥ nding· start 04:32, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Femme Fatale (Britney Spears album) →
Femme Fatale (album) – Of the three albums with the name Femme Fatale, Britney's was viewed 115,248 in the last days; the Edvokia Kadi page was viewed 617 times and the Miki Howard page was viewed 423 times, both in the same 90-day range. While Britney's album certainly can't have the plain Femme Fatale title, I don't think it needs the additional disambiguation of her name, as it appears to be the most prominent of the three releases. (And in the event that this wasn't the album a reader was looking for, a hatnote to the disambiguation page should surely be sufficient.)

Femme Fatale (Britney Spears album) → Femme Fatale (album) – I understand that I had opened this discussion just a few weeks ago, but seeing as though the discussion had reached no consensus, I'll take the time to restate my original proposal and supporting rationale. Britney's Femme Fatale got 100,408 views in the last 90 days, compared to 1179 views for the album by the band Femme Fatale and 416 views for Mike Howard. With these numbers, there's no question that Britney's release is the more sought-after topic. There was also opposition due to ambiguous disambiguation, though (as Status ( talk · contribs) pointed out) this situation would be very similar to the case of Thriller (album); even though the album couldn't have the plain title Thriller, since it was the more prominent album of its disambiguation by a long shot it was given the plain "album" disambiguation. Same for Femme Fatale. WikiRedactor ( talk) 22:53, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Femme Fatale (Britney Spears album)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT ⚡ 23:43, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
Label >>> retailers (= 1 million)
retailers >>> consumers (= less than 800k)
It'll never reach 1 million sales through SoundScan so keeping it that way is a lie. · Mcdonalds ( talk · cont), at 01:06, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
