Searching on newspapers.com finds that during Murphy's time in professional baseball (1912 to 1924), especially with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1914, he was referred to as "Herbert Murphy" much more than "Dummy Murphy". As there is no current article named "Herbert Murphy" on Wikipedia, this would be a straightforward move, with "Dummy Murphy" continuing to redirect users to the new article title. Comments welcome—please reply in the below section. Thanks.

Dummy Murphy → Herbert Murphy – Herbert Courtland Murphy was primarily referred to as "Herbert Murphy" during his time playing professional baseball (1912–1924). While baseball reference sites such as Baseball-Reference.com and Retrosheet list him (or have previously listed him) as "Dummy Murphy", that name was not used nearly as often as Herbert Murphy by contemporary newspaper reports. The results of searches conducted via newspapers.com are listed on the Talk page. Dmoore5556 ( talk) 21:26, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
