I removed all "hises" but the first from the opening sentence of "His beret and horn-rimmed spectacles, his scat singing, his bent horn, pouched cheeks, and his light-hearted personality provided some of bebop's most prominent symbols." Could anyone please tell me if it's okay to list something like "his table, his chair, and his lamp" in a sentence, or if it's more acceptable to just use the possessive pronoun once? Also, sorry to be passive-aggressive to whoever wrote that sentences, or just the "hises", in my edit note. I originally wrote a
version of this on the help desk, but then deleted it when I realized it would be better to ask it here first, since other users have told me to do that and
this page seems to indicate that I should.--
